OUR VISION

SOAR, or Support Our Autism Rainbow Foundation was created in 2004 by a group of parents who wanted their children with autism to learn from and form friendships with their classmates.

Today, it has grown to provide a social development program for elementary, middle, and high school students across the Half Hollow Hills School District.

SOAR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is entirely supported through fundraising. 100% of donations go directly to providing the social skills programs and increasing the understanding of autism in our community.

Our Focus

Educate & promote awareness within our community. Provide help for our children with autism in the area of social development.

With clinical supervision & planning, children begin to help children progress in the area of social development. Socialization is critical for the ability to mainstream and live a more independent life. In doing so, typical children learn the value of volunteering and respecting those who are different. In turn, friendships are formed.

How to get involved:

SOAR's Social Development Program is open to all elementary, middle, and high school students on the autism spectrum. Parents must commit to actively participate in the foundation. A child's readiness to participate will be determined by a clinical advisor. Every possible effort will be made to get your child ready.

Parent Participation includes attending monthly meetings that alternate between day and evening to accommodate all schedules. SOAR is a team effort and we ask that each family will bring their efforts and talents to the organization. Parents must also help plan and participate in fundraising and yearly events.

Join us at our next meeting and see how SOAR can help your child.
